Details of Study

The goal of the proposed research project is to provide comprehensive knowledge of the interaction between individual differences in primary emotional systems and stuttering, which will lead to a better understanding of the speech disorder stuttering. All relevant variables are measured via self-report in the present study.Primary emotional systems are anchored in subcortical areas of the human brain and their proper functioning is an essential part for well-being in every human being. As this is a case-control study, we ask both persons who stutter and persons who do not stutter to participate.

You will be asked to fill out the questionnaires on the next page, which will approximately take 20 minutes. The participation is anonymous.
The participation is fully voluntarily.

It is up to you to decide whether or not to take part. If you choose not to participate it will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. If you decide to take part you will be given this information sheet to keep and be asked to sign a consent form. If you decide to take part you are still free to withdraw at any time and without giving a reason.

All data will be collected and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
